Andrea is a FANTASTIC singer with an AMAZING voice but he's a really bad opera singer!
How does anyone take this seriously? What a joke. Pop/crossover works for Andrea Bocelli and he should leave it at that.
In a world that may never know peace,With Andrea's Voice I know there is peace in my world
Oh, Andrea. . .
Don't get me wrong, I think Andrea Bocelli has a fairly nice voice. But this album clearly shows that his instrument is certainly not cut out for hard-core Verdi (or any operatic composer, for that matter)! Italian bel canto composers (ie Verdi, Donizetti, Bellini, etc.) require a very dramatic and full-blooded vocal tone quality. They had voices that were larger-than-life in mind when they were writing these great operas. Bocelli does a decent job with these fairly difficult Verdi arias, but his nasally tone quality is not even close to the kind of voice that is needed to sing Verdi well. Feel free to check this album out for novelty's sake, but if you're looking for some great performances by REAL Verdi tenors, check out Pavarotti, Domingo, Corelli, etc.
I found that the voice of Andrea Bocelli is seamless and timeless. One could only envy his success. This work once again shows a voice woven with pure silver and will be a work to be remmembered for generations to come
Nice try bocelli...try again. (Verdi is, in fact, one of the world's greatest composers. Sadly, Bocelli, once again, makes an attempt at operatic success and fails..oh how he fails....)
One of the best Compilations from one of the Worlds Best Composers.
